Celtic Woman Concert

Recently, we went to a Celtic Woman Concert. It was amazing and inspiring, as always. It reminded me of the time, 20 years ago when I first heard of them. My parents used to watch PBS all the time and my sister and I would kind of make fun of them for that. LOL. Until they were watching PBS and I heard Celtic Woman.

This moment changed my life. It sounds excessive, but it really did. I had never really heard anyone sing like that and I instantly became inspired. They were so very different from the pop music I was used to hearing. I remembered the long forgotten love of singing I had as a child. This stuck with me for years, until I started to learn to play piano, which eventually led me back into singing. Anyway, the concert was so lively and beautiful and I LOVE the dresses they get to wear!

This group has changed over the years, but has been such an inspiration to me. I’ve been to at least four of their concerts over the years and also went to an Orla Fallon concert back in NY, which was amazing as well. I normally don’t go to concerts too often, but was motivated to see this group.

It was also through this group that I realized how much I love Irish music! I heard many beautiful songs through them for the first time.

I’m so glad I got to see them again! And we had good seats which may have been a mistake, because now I will never want to go and sit in the very back like I used to! I found it was a totally different experience being up close, which isn’t surprising. Still these photos were the best I could do with my phone camera in the dark while trying to be inconspicuous : )
