Finally Finished This Painting

This painting is titled ‘Touching Infinity’.

I’ve been wanted to do a series of paintings about this theme of infinity since I started painting, but I just didn’t have the skills or experience to translate it onto the canvas. I’ve always felt that there’s something so mysterious and infinite about life. What’s this thing we are inside of, that we so often take for granted? Supposed infinite space all around us, going on and on. I want to capture that feeling of wonder, that is so uncommon in adulthood, but was the norm as a child. It’s the feeling I used to experience at night when lying outside looking up at the stars, a feeling of infinity.

I’ve been working on this painting a little bit here and there for a couple of weeks. This weekend I finally just finished it. It’s almost always the case for me, starting a painting is motivating and enjoyable but finishing it is kind of a drag.

I am going to *try* to collage a poem into my paintings in the future. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but just kept forgetting or putting it off.

When decluttering, I found a few small frames I bought hidden away. I’m going to do a series of small paintings on paper for them and put them up in my house. I might do a frog series. I always forget how adorable frogs are! These are some quick sketches, just to get some ideas.

LOL

At Epcot again 🙂 Got this great shot of an eel. I’m going to paint this one, at the very least in my sketchbook.

Also, saw some cute plants and couldn’t resist.

New colorful plants 😁
