I’ve been working on this very large painting for a wall in my living room.  At first it looked pretty bad, but it’s starting to move in a good direction.  I originally had three hawks in the painting but removed one because it just didn’t look right.

I added a nest in that area because it’s kind of empty. I was thinking about the hawk I keep seeing in my backyard. There’s definitely another one around because I heard them communicating with a distinct call, so maybe there’s a nest.  They must live around here as I’ve been seeing the hawk on a regular basis.  It’s weird because I never saw one so close before.

Really excited about the sunflower seeds I bought, they’re actually growing! I got the seeds for the mammoth type, I hope they survive!!! I always loved sunflowers and the huge ones just seem so magical.

This is my frog series for now. The nice thing about these frames is you could just replace the paintings when you want. I completed these in about 3 hours, and used oils. I took a long break from oils but I kind of like them again…
