I often forget to post pictures of the paintings when  finish them.  Finishing the painting is the most difficult part for me.  It seems like it can always be better, but then if you overwork it there’s a very good chance of ruining it. 😂 It’s a delicate balance.

It’s better to just finish it and then start another one because that’s how you get the most practice and experience. 

Starting a painting is the most exciting time for me because I don’t know how it’s going to turn out and it’s a new adventure, so it’s fun. But if I take too long with one painting I start to get bored and then it will be more difficult to finish, so there’s an optimal amount of time to spend.  You need to spend enough time so that it looks good and has adequate details, but not so much time where it feels like a boring chore and gets overworked.  I think this is also a skill and gets developed over time.
