This Month…

The year is already flying by, one month almost gone. I’ve been working on some mermaid paintings and also some nature paintings.

I pretty happy with these paintings above and I really enjoyed working on them.

Sleepsong

I liked the concept of the sleeping mermaid, but I’m not sure if I’m happy with how this one turned out. I might redo it. The name Sleepsong came to me and it reminds me of one of my favorite songs called Sleepsong by Secret Garden. This was one of the first songs I learned when I started singing and playing piano and it’s still one of my favorites to play.

This painting is from a photo I took in Germany. We were walking through the Schwarzwald (Black Forest). Such a beautiful and stunning place, the forests in Germany are on a completely different level than what I am used to. Surrounded by towering trees, just such a magical place to be.

I had a surprise visitor under my door to the back porch. I’ve seen this snake before a while back in the same spot. When the door was closed it would sneak into the crack under it and just rest there. I wouldn’t have minded, except every time I opened the door it would fall out and I was afraid it would end up getting squished by accident. I noticed it there a few times and it really didn’t seem to want to leave (I think it just stayed still as a defense mechanism ). I’m wondering if this snake is just small or is actually a baby. But it was really cute. If it’s a baby, one day it wont fit under the door anymore.
